Connect a Google Analytics Account

Need to connect Google Analytics? Click here to enter your tracking ID.
Please note: Google has updated its Analytics platform to implement a new form of traffic code, called Universal Analytics. As a result, we are updating our integration with Analytics to comply with the new Universal Analytics requirements. If you were previously using Google Analytics with BrightStar, or if you are a new user of the integration, you will need to make some changes to your Google Analytics configuration.

If you're new to Google Analytics:

  • Visit http://www.google.com/analytics

  • Follow the steps to create a new Google account or to set up Analytics on an existing Google account.

Adding Universal Analytics

Please note: The following set of instructions only applies to users who wish to track activity on BrightStar event pages alone. If you wish to track visits from your website to your event pages, you will instead need to follow the instructions for Cross-Domain Tracking, found below this section.

  • Sign in to your Google Analytics account.

  • Click Admin.

  • Move your cursor over Property and select Create New Property.

  • Select Universal Analytics when prompted.

  • You will be provided with a tracking ID (e.g., UA-3718999-1).

  • Sign in to your BrightStar account and click the Connect section.

  • Click Google Analytics.

  • Enter your Analytics tracking ID into the field provided and click Save.

  • Return to your Google Analytics account.

  • Click Admin and select View [Your Profile Name].

  • Click Goals and select Create a Goal.

  • Follow the instructions until you are prompted to select a destination. Choose Regular Expression.

  • Enter the following in the field presented: /receipt.* (Please enter exactly as shown here.)

  • Click Save.

Cross-Domain Tracking

Please note: If you have an existing tracking ID on your website, please check your Analytics account to ensure that you have Universal Analytics enabled. (You can find this setting under your Property information, and it will clearly indicate if your ID is congruent with Universal Analytics.)

  • Follow the instructions at https://developers.google.com/analytics/devguides/collection/analyticsjs/cross-domain to begin. (You will need the assistance of your webmaster or development team.)
  • Once you have received your Universal Analytics tracking ID, sign in to your BrightStar account and click the Connect section.
